Feb 16 2008, 7:42 PM EST The sad truth is that I wasn't so shocked to hear this comment. Adam is yet another ignoramous that parents of children with disabilities must encounter almost daily. The only scary part is that he is an ignoramous that is working with our children. Can you imagine the parent of a child that he was working with hearing this? They were probably so excited that their child's teacher would be on TV. Some of them might have let their children watch it too. If he knew anything, he would know just the basic idea that it is called Autistic Spectrum Disorder because it is just that.....a spectrum.......and someone can fall anywhere along that spectrum from mentally retarted to genius. To think that he thinks he can say what he wants because he works with children on the spectrum. I was offended, saddened, sickened, and most of terrified that any of our children could encounter someone like that. But also a little relieved that he will most likely have a hard time finding anyone willing to let him work with their child ever again. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

And yes I am just as scared , My son who has Autism is scared to have a haircut and he cries the whole time Its a sad thing to do and Its hard to find a place that can handle our kids, so sad to see that my worst fear is true....can I really trust the person doing it ?? I mean its hard enough for us to find assistance and now the very person sent to help is a real jerk! 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

You are representing the autism community! **************************************************** This is the contact info for the autism foundation that Adam Jasinski is representing while calling kids with autism "retards" on the CBS show Big Brother . He is reported to be the PR person for them. There has been some question as to if this is a legitimate charity. Why has no apology been issued y them???? He spoke on the show of opening a haircut place for special needs kids so all the "retards" could get their haircuts together... nice guy isn't he. When another contestant questioned him he said he can call them whatever he wants since he works his a** off for them. I just read the bios for some of the people this year on BB. Jen has a degree in Special education AND is a special education teacher..YET..she said NOTHING when Adam made that comment..Also..Alex is getting his degree in Childhood education. IF those people love children enough to work them..especially Jen who works directly in that field..why did they just let his comment slide? Sheila was the only one who said anything to him. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

He may be disgusting and ugly to some of you but Adam is real. He has a good heart and he cares about other people's feelings. I do wish he had said it a different way but I don't think he meant any harm. This world is not made up of only beautiful people y'all. But he isn't ugly to me. I like old 8 Baller. He just needs to think before he speaks. Sheila acts like she was so offended but has been kissing his ass every since other HGs have let her know that here constant bashing him was going to be the nail in her coffin. He didn't actually work for those children. He tried to impress everyone but, because he is actually ignorant to what Autism really is..and obviously the things you say or don't say..he referred to them as "retarded"..Mostly out of ignorance..but, he WAS trying to make him self look good.. However, he's been pretty good lately..and has been on his best behavior..so, we'll see. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
